This is the set that got me started collecting prewar cards. The Ruth shown below was pulled from a pack by my father and then survived 30+ years in a cardboard box in the rafters of a detached garage at my grandmothers house. My grandparents moved while my father was in the Navy during WWII and thought they had trashed his baseball cards. My aunt found them in the mid-70's and my father gave them to me. I've since finished the basic set and am on my way to the master set. Also included are a few oddities that I've picked up along the way.

What a nice way to honor your Dad by finishing the set. I'm working on finishing the 1934 Gold Medal Flour set to honor my Uncle who died before I was born but left behind 4 cards, including both Deans.
