IDEAL CAP CO.
The Ideal caps have a lot of nice qualities, but some are not historically accurate. For example, in 1914, the Chi-Feds (not yet called the Whales) wore a plain, dark cap at home and a white, pin-striped cap without a logo on the road top. In 1915, the Whales' home uniform cap was dark with a lighter-colored 'C' (no whale); there are no known photos of any of the players in a road uniform from that year.
