Default 19th Century cards - crazy tough!!

Posted By: David Seaborn

I've been crunching some numbers and I thought I'd share them with the board. We all know about how scarce 19th century issues are, but these numbers still amaze me. Here's the total number of cards in each set that have been graded (PSA or SGC) and sold individually at auction over the past year:

1) N172 (O.J.) - 181
2) N300 (Mayo) - 48
3) N28 (A&G) - 43 (amazingly the same number as T206 Cobb Red Portraits...wow!)
4) N284 (Buchner)-29
5) N29 (A&G) - 10
6) N43 (A&G) - 4
Everything else is insanley low. Many only have had one graded example sell, including N167 (OJ), N370 (Lone Jack), and 4 Base Hits.

Anyone care to guess how many T206's, T205's, or examples from any other tobacco/caramel issues (I'll do any that are requested) over that same time period? I'll post the answers in a couple days. It's just amazing!
