Default does anyone remember the early detroit shows

Posted By: Brian Goldner

Went to most of the Plymouth shows in the 1970's.
As previously mentioned, Lloyd and Carol Toerpe were the Convention Hosts.

Actually, the 1st Show in that series, was at the Statler Hilton in downtown Detroit, in September, 1970.
I still have the convention program.

My favorite memory was from around 1975.
Al Kaline was one of the Autograph guests, and received most of the attention.

Meanwhile, and i don't recall how this happened, but my dad and i were walking around table to table with HOF'er George Kell.

I vividly remember Mr Kell looking at an item, and then looking at me and saying, that he just had to pick that up for Ernie (Harwell). I'll never forget that.

For those who might not be aware, HOF Broadcaster Ernie Harwell was also an early collector of Baseball Guides and related material.
