In the NLCS (game 7, I think) a slow roller was hit to Scott Rolen with a man on first. Rolen fielded it easily but then air mailed over Pujols' head. McCarver immediately and emphatically said that Rolen threw it away because he looked to second base before throwing to first. A replay clearly showed that Rolen never looked at second. It seemed that Rolen had merely non-chalanted the throw. Instead of admitting his mistake McCarver actually said that you could not see it from that replay and then let it drop without showing any replays from other angles. What an ego!
