I tend to agree with this. The card
design is crappy. HUGE script team names. Borders within borders within borders? Really? And what's up with Willie Montanez's name? They had enough room for
ROLLIE FINGERS but not
WILLIE MONTANEZ?
And while the selection of photos themselves is decent (some have been shown here), the actual
printing execution of the photos is downright awful. It's not even a technology thing. Look at the printing quality of the '60s cards and compare it with these. It's almost like Topps was doing laser printing in the '60s and decided to revert back to dot-matrix for the late '70s. Or it could be the photographers were only provided Kodak Instamatics to take the picture. Who knows.
