Your instincts were correct, though the front gave it away in a millisecond. The font, color, size, wear are all indicators that this is an artificially distressed reprint.

To answer everyone's question that I get all the time. Why didn't you get it graded. Well it would be a waste of time because I know it will grade poor. If I purchase a card graded I sale it graded. If I purchase one ungraded I sell it ungraded. Plus I don't like paying to have a card graded.
