Michael CI buy raw. It can be a crap shoot on ebay sometimes, but as long as you don't overpay for raw and expect something worthy of a high grade from PSA or SGC than you will be alright most of the time.
I prefer raw cards, but I would never buy something very expensive or rare without a holder.
