Madison is where I was born/raised. It's a physically very beautiful city with lakes and parks. The summers are a lot hotter and the winters a LOT colder than where you currently live (I remember when one day's HIGH was 13 below). As it's the state capital and has the UW campus there, it's fairly educated/metropolitan including a good number of internatinal restauraunts. Wisconsites, especialy in the rural/small town areas, are always friendly. As Frank Lloyd Wright is from Southern Wisconsin, there are a number of his buildings. Lastly, when you leave Madinson's confines you will see (and smell) lots of dairy cows.
