I find it a little odd that we as fans, should think that we are entitled to keep our star players for the rest of their career. I've worked at a LA Casino since 1987. So if a Vegas Casino offered me twice my income, I shouldn't take it?
How about when I get older and they boot me in favor of a younger guy who'll work for less money but has little or no knowledge of the business. Where would the loyalty lay there?
