Eric BrehmI would go for a batch of graded T206 HOFers in EX 5 or EX-MT 6. These are available every day on eBay from reputable sellers. I try to find ones that are well-centered with no wrinkles or other surface defects. A little corner wear doesn't bother me. When I see a card graded EX that looks like a NM-MT one, I usually suspect that a surface defect is present but perhaps not readily apparent in the scan.
There are dozens of nice T206's being offered in the current Heritage auction, including a good selection of NM 7 and NM-MT 8 ones, but these latter have gotten quite pricey lately. And while the higher grade ones are certainly attractive, the EX and EX-MT ones for me have more 'character' and a more authentic feel relative to their age; I feel like they offer the best quality for the dollar.
