Default Guess what Mastro Auctions did to me? WOW

Posted By: Nathan

I'm still amazed this item was described incorrectly...

From Mastro's auction description...

"Presented is a series of four original photos of Dummy Hoy, which have been doubled-matted and framed to 9-5/8" x 20-1/2" overall dimensions. Each photo (3" x 3-3/4" to 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" visible portions) exhibits apparent EX/MT display properties. Hoy, a deaf-mute, enjoyed a 14-year career (primarily with the Reds) that culminated in 1902."

When we bid on the item, the pictures were not as detailed as they could be on the website. Then when it arrived in the mail, we knew right away it was not Hoy as he never played for a New York Team. This simple information could be easily verified by Mastro and they even said he played "primarily with the Reds". Here's the teams he spent all of his career with.

1888 26 WHS NL
1889 27 WHS NL
1890 28 BUF PL
1891 29 STL AA
1892 30 WHS NL
1893 31 WHS NL
1894 32 CIN NL
1895 33 CIN NL
1896 34 CIN NL
1897 35 CIN NL
1898 36 LOU NL
1899 37 LOU NL
1901 39 CHW AL
1902 40 CIN NL

I have contacted Mastro...I haven't gotten a reply yet with it being the weekend. Will keep you all posted.
