barrysloateDaniel- depending upon how tightly the cards are glued down, if you remove them from an album without soaking them you may destroy every one of them. That can't be a good plan. And for those who aren't aware- if you studied paper restoration and conservation, soaking and cleaning are standard accepted practices. I realize that baseball cards are different than say posters or albumen photographs, where conservation and repair are more the norm. But soaking to remove glue is a time tested process. Does it alter the card in any way? Same exact card, just without the paper and glue. Seems reasonable to me (but obviously not to all).
