These are the earliest references I find to the Johnston Cookies cards:
1953 -- June 8 Minneapolis Star
1954 -- May 13 La Crosse WI Tribune
1955 -- April 13 Milwaukee Journal
The 1954 Topps Aaron was in the second series. I don't know when it was released.
