Sorry, about the long-winded post; but, my argument
is simply based on the following known recorded data:
Magie......only exists as a PIEDMONT 150
Wagner.....all are from the 1st series (150)
Plank......very few are PIEDMONT 150
Therefore, as stated in above post, my logical conclusion
is that during the very 1st press runs entire (or partial)
sheets containing these three cards were destroyed due
to initial printing flaws. However, obviously we do know
that a few sheets got by Quality Control. This number of
sheets would be less than 100; and, that I am basing this
on the approximate "population" of Wagner's and Magie's
in existence presently in the hobby.
The Plank printed in the 2nd Series (350 Subjects) at
this point, I have no explanation for.
