Tribute to Miller Huggins....show us your cards, stuff, etc.
In 1923, a 19-year old rookie 1st baseman joined the Yankees. Miller Huggins devoted a lot of time in developing Lou Gehrig into the player he became.
Years later Lou Gehrig said....Hes the most patient manager I ever knew. He stuck with me and encouraged me and helped me. He is the best teacher
I ever had the privilege of being with.
Miller Huggins died Sept 25, 1929......
Lou Gehrig told reporters, I will miss him more than anyone. Next to my father and my mother, he was the best friend a boy could have. He taught me
everything I know.
