That monument is placed near a major intersection in Hoboken, and each corner has a large stone "base" in the sidewalk. It's pretty cool.
Side note- the monument is not on the exact spot of the first game...that's about 1000 feet closer to the waterfront (right under Maxwell Place), where I used to live.
