Thanks Frank and Jeff....

Amazing that Hack was 31 yrs old in the photo, looked 50 and died at the young age of 48.

He was fresh off the incredible 190 RBI season with .356 batting average and 56 HR..
The next seasons he played (4) combined he barely reached those totals.

He was allegedly a heavy drinker which took its toll in a severe way. He peaked during the big hitting years of 1929-1932 then withered into obscurity. He didn't make the HOF until 1979. A tragic story overall.

It's one of the reasons I collect baseball cards...the history of the game and it's players is fascinating!
