Default Need Help with Maris/Mantle Card

Posted By: davidcycleback

I've seen a wide variety of team issues/stadium issues, including from the 1960s, as players often used them to sign through the mail autographs. They are usually blank backed, often with no or little indication who printed or issued them. Off hand, yours is the same/similar style as these picture cards. They often have faux player autographs on them. Also, as far as I've seen, these haven't been reprinted by Lary Frisch or anyone like that. There is variation to stock used over the years, and 'postcard stock' would fit within the extremes. I've seen team issues on nothing more than paper, and I've seen 1980s team issues on sturdy cardboard. Though most 1960s ones I've seen are on what I'd call stiff paper, heavier than typing paper and more like photo paper. Some might call it thin cardboard.

Without seeing it in person, I would assume yours is a 1960s team issue or stadium issue photo card, possibly purchased at Yankee Stadium.
