PCThat's a great list. I'd add Gibson before Koufax -- Gibson's 1968 season is tops in the modern era. And I'd add Lefty Grove before either of them (31-4 in the 1931 season).
One could also argue Gehrig over Foxx, and there's a case for Mantle and Williams, but at that level it doesn't really matter. They are all good choices.
