Steve DawsonActually Scott, I would argue that the 1974 Washington NL cards were the first "major" error cards. They were huge in the mid-to-late '70s. Also, the 1979 Bump Wills Toronto Blue Jay (and Texas Ranger correction) card was huge when it came out.
I do agree that Fleer (and Donruss) took errors to a new (and ridiculous) level, but the "C" Nettles wasn't the first, IMHO.
