I highly recommend PhotoStitcher if you plan on doing a lot more "stitching" in the future. $20, but you just pop in the scans and it does the work for you. Sometimes its a bit faulty, such as when you have scans that make it hard to distinguish the area they should be stitched at, but I'd say I have a >95% success rate with it.
