And yes, Lowell is much better than it was. Somewhere there's an article comparing Lowell to Lawrence. Two cities that are near each other and nearly identical in some ways. But that took very different paths.

I still need to get over to the historical society to see if they have anything. It's very hit and miss, some stuff they have lots of info, others it's just the listing in the city guides from the early 1900's.

There's a book about early baseball in Lowell. I picked up a copy but haven't read it yet.
