Lew said that in the last issue of The Old Judge (January 1994), he gave a value of $18,000 for the OJ Anson in uniform. That's quite an increase from $1000 nine years earlier in the first issue of TOJ, yet not as high as it got a few years later. The auction you're thinking of was in 2001, and the Anson in uniform went for $66,503:
