Mullane was the best pitcher of the 1880's and a sure 300 game winner if he was also not the first player to sit out a year because of a contract dispute. He was Terrell Owens and Roger Clemens all rolled up in one person in the 1880-90's.
Sockalexis was quite possibly the best baseball player of all time but only had about 3 months to show it before alcohol and injuries took over his life. There is no more interesting life story in all of sports than his in my opinion.
