Brad,

I started out as a Washington collector more than 20 years ago, and have never strayed far from that aim. For me, the task is endless, because as progress slows toward one goal I can begin working on another that's more attainable. For example, the only 206 I need is the Elberfeld portrait. But there are other Ts, E cards, Ms, Ds, Hs, etc. Programs and tickets, too--and pennants (if I felt confident that I could tell good from bad), and DQ statues, and rulers, and mugs...

For me it's not the satisfaction of completion, it's the thrill of the hunt--and the discovery of something new to me. As Joe P. says, once you're "finished," then what? We've had a few threads here from people saying, "I've completed X set (E98, et al.). What do you suggest I go after next?"
