Agree with the previous three posts. Also, a note on dating the source -- the book they're taken from is no older than a 1927 publication.
The shot of Meusel (Plate II, pic 3) is from the 1926 Series, and the last player shown in the hockey plate is wearing a New York Rangers uniform.
Rangers didn't begin play until the 1926-27 season, which opened in mid-November.
