A Coin Dealer brought me a STACK of Greiner's - a complete set plus a couple of duplicates if memory serves, but it may not...

We couldn't find them in "The Big Book" as only prices for Tharp's were listed.

I tried to explain that Tharp's and York's and Sweetman's and Greiner's, and Yuengling's, etc. were all essentially the same set - just different advertisers like Tobacco cards.

But as I said, I was only a Punk-Ass kid trying to deal with a Grown Man!

Anyway, we could NOT agree on a price for Lot, but he sold me the only duplicates that he had - the McGraw and Speaker that I still have today.

I lost touch with the Coin Dealer and have NO IDEA what happened to the rest of the Greiner's cards that he had.

Nobody wanted those UGLY BLACK & WHITE cards anyway...

It was this "Near Find" that brought me to NET54....

Cool story Greg...no wonder why the Greiner's card are so elusive, and why I hadn't seen them before. Someone either has a whole set stashed away, or this set got lost for all eternity.
