Flight 77 hit the Pentagon. No doubt about it. Here is just one of many good articles on the subject:

http://home.planet.nl/~reijd050/JoeR/pentahole_dimensions_est.htm

The lack of large debris is a red herring. The towers were basically hollow tubes, so what little "large" debris made it through the buildings can be explained (and other than the landing gear of the plane that hit the south tower -- that is the smoking piece of debris that can be easily seen in the footage exiting to the north after impact -- I am not aware of any large pieces of the planes making it through the towers). Further, planes disintegrate when they hit rock, and when they hit the ground. The Pentagon is made of concrete, and Flight 77 hit the ground nearly simultaneously with hitting the first floor of the Pentagon. So, given these facts (and they are facts), why would anyone expect to see a plane-shaped hole in the Pentagon with the tail sticking out? Did anyone expect to see a tail sticking out of the ground at the Flight 93 crash site in Pennsylvania? Of course not.
