People have spent thousands on cards with one letter missing or even the Sharpe-Shappe card with a part of a letter missing, so I don't really think spending $175 on a HOF'er with a much more significant issue is overspending.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-T206-11...AAAOSwgyxWUuUd. This Griffith card is clearly altered though. Wouldn't even be surprised if the letters were erased on this one given how it appears to be bleached or lightened. To me it just doesnt seem to be worth what was paid but thats just my opinion.
