It is not a "happy" film. It deals with the roots of their addictions besides dealing with the stardom. They both were born into alcoholic families and this greatly influenced their lives.
My personal conclusions about them,,, Strawberry seems to have straightened himself out. Not so sure about Doc Gooden  .
