These are probably not safer than a safety deposit box, but they aren't too cheap, holds lots of stuff, can be bolted to your floor, weighs 300-400 pounds and takes only 5-10 seconds to open. Good for stuff you want to keep in your house. I'd still recommend keeping the safety deposit box for more valuable stuff. Diversication seems good to me.
