Hi Dan,

I think you may have just agreed with Andy -- you're right, it is an added bonus, which I believe is why people are willing to pay a premium for pins with fully in tact backings.

In my opinion it comes down to wanting to own a card, pin, etc as close as possible to its original "as produced" condition.
