Al DeVormer looks very similar to Emil "Irish" Meusel (and so does his bro Bob Meusel). (See DeVormer's W503 card on cardpricer.com for a similar portrait picture)

But the key is the hat, Irish played for the NY Giants...... DeVormer and Bob Meusel played for the NY Yankees.

Its a Giants hat in the picture.......So you are right, it is Emil Meusel that is pictured on that E121-80 card.

Its tough to tell because both the Giants and Yankees had white pinstripe hats in that era, but the "NY" logos are slightly different with the Giants logo having the top ends of the "Y" extending past the "N" on the left and right side.
