I've got this funny niggling memory, but it won't take shape. Or maybe, there was some outstanding player in a losing cause (like Bonds), who a lot of people thought SHOULD have won the MVP.

I like what the S.F. Chronicle said about what the Angels looked like, comparing them to what the inventor of the microscope said he saw the first time he looked through his machine: "frolicking beasties."
