This happened with Zakk Wylde's signature swirl painted guitar here in Chicago. His tour manager, of all people, forgot to lock his tour bus up on Lake St. outside of Chicago Theatre. A guy just walked on to the bus and took the first valuable he saw-the guitar case. Turned out he sold it to a pawn shop for $50 and estimated value was thousands.
