Default Collection Focus - Where Baseball Meets History

Hey All,

I tend to read more than post, but I was hoping to get some thoughts.

I've been collecting cards for close to 2 decades but have recently shifted my focus to other items. What has particularly grabbed me are items that have historical significance beyond just baseball.

For example, I have been able to pick up baseballs signed by the 1931 and 1934 teams that toured Japan. I also have a couple of baseball's from the Musial collection that are signed by his team from his time in the Pacific Theatre during WWII.

After winning the 1931 baseball in the recent Golding Auction (it's not a great example, but it will do until I can find a nicer one) I have been trying to identify other items to consider.

The first item I'm considering is a 1947 Dodgers signed baseball which obviously reflects the breaking of the color barrier in baseball.

With the incredible knowledge of baseball history here, I was hoping people might have some ideas for other items that might fit the collection? I know there have been so many fascinating and remarkable individuals in baseball over the last 100+ years, and would greatly appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks in advance!
