Default Sporting News / Sporting Life Collection - For Sale / Trade

Let me know if anybody has any interest in a collection that includes :

The Sporting News
(stored flat)
4,200 issues (about 4,000 different), missing only 32 issues between 1926 thru late 1993, includes 260+ issues prior to 1926 (as far back as Oct 13, 1888)

Sporting Life
(stored flat)
770 issues (about 725 different), including all 650 issues from March 25, 1899 thru Sept 2, 1911. These are bound in 22 volumes. There are 68 covers with HOF members, and 164 covers with composites of teams or groups of players (many of these also contain HOF members not included in the 68 HOF covers).

Baseball Weekly
(stored flat)
648 issues between April 11, 1991 (first issue) and Nov 25, 2003. Missing only 3 issues in that run, and those three might actually be included, I'm not sure.

Sports Illustrated
(stored in magazine boxes, many in bags with boards)
1600+ issues starting with first issue Aug 16, 1954 complete thru Dec 26, 1960. Missing most issues 1961 thru 1966. All 1967 and 1968 issues included. Missing some issues from 1969 thru 1975. Complete after 1976 until at least 1993.

After 1993, I think the run is complete, but possibly missing a few random issues. Post 1993 issues are not included in the 1600+ number. Probably another 1000 issues, or so.

These take up a lot of space, as you might guess, and that's pretty much the only reason I'm looking to sell them. The lovely wife would love to have the space back.

Combined, about 8,000 different issues of the four titles.
I'm thinking $35k for the lot, but I am open to discussion.
I am open to payments.
I am open to trades.
I am open to just about anything, so don't be afraid to contact me.

If you're reading this, you don't need to be told what an amazing resource all of these issues are. I often us them to help me date the games of my scored scorecard collection. And, they're just plain fun to read.

I will NOT split up the individual titles. I would like to sell everything, but would be interested in selling just the TSN issues, or just the Sporting Life issues, but I will not sell (as an example) the pre-1936 TSN issues (for you Babe Ruth collectors). If you want some of the TSN issues, you need to buy them all.

Email me at doug.goodman@earthlink.net if you have any interest.

Thank you for reading,
Take care,
Doug
