Ted ZanidakisPerhaps my imagination is getting carried away here....My thinking is that Jack Dunn is backing off the
pitcher's mound, struggling in an awkward manner, to catch a wind blown, sky-high fly that is behind
him. If this is so, it is a classic pix of why a pitcher should never field a ball hit in the air in the vicinity
of the pitcher's mound.
And indeed, in the modern game, the pitcher never fields such fly balls.
