They're identical scans because the card hasn't changed in appearance since the auction. Do these cards change shape? Color?
Perhaps he wanted to save time by not having to scan the card when he can easily use the best scan already available.

Sounds like you may have an invested interest
I was for the seller till the evidence came out about the auction scans. To much of this happens in the hobby so when flags start flying its best to step away. We make mistakes sometimes(I do) but its hard to over look these facts
