Marc S.will never be able to definitely make assessments on a card's quality. Especially when some of the best analysis (in my mind) can be done by looking at the card out of the holder, by closely examining its edges.
Much like anything else -- a scan is a great starting point, and it may be indicative of shoddy hack jobs, but more sophisticated and "good" looking cards can probably only be vetted propertly through an in-person analysis with the proper tools.
