Default 1947 Bond Bread .........again.

Thank you for the perfect comparison.

I really hate to get started again....But, having a complete set of
the real 1947 Bond (48 - card) set with ROUNDED corners; and,
the 24 - card SQUARE issue, I have to reiterate that the SQUARE
cards are not the same as the originals. As a 9 year old, I collected
this set, they were my very first BB cards.I still have my original
48 cards and they are all ROUNDED. I clearly recall there were no
SQUARE cards issued in 1947.

Julie's examples clearly depicts the difference.

The ROUNDED cards are definitely sharper and are printed on white,
thicker cardboard. The SQUARE cards are of a lower printing quality
and are on thinner cardboard stock which has a tendency to discolor.

The argument that the SQUARE cards are simply un-ROUNDED, un-
circulated inventory from 1947 does not make sense. If this is so,
why haven't we ever seen a complete set of 48 cards in the SQUARE
version? Let's apply some basic common sense to this mystery. The
fact that only 24 cards exist in the SQUARE form tells me that these
24 were REPRINTED at some later date.
