CyI know this is not vintage cards, but it is ebay and it is about buying cards.
A friend asked me to find him a Roger Clemens rookie card for his son. In the process, I found these two completed auctions.

The PSA 9 went for $59. The BGS 10 went for $3,938.88!
Does the winner wear T-shirts that state I have TOO much money?
If you took both cards out of the holder, gave them to the winner, told him to pick one, then mixed them up and told him to pick one again, I bet there is a very good chance he wouldn't pick the same card. Why is a card worth $3879.88 more than the other, when they are just about the same quality?
I don't begrudge anyone for buying a card that he/she wants and can afford. But this is plain and simple someone buying the number 10 on the card holder and not the card.
I am still shaking my head in disbelief.
