Default Hobby writer Paul Green Passes

Posted By: Brian Goldner

Though i haven't heard from Paul in quite some time, he definitely left a positive imprint on the baseball card hobby, and i might expect, the coin hobby as well.

I wondered about his health, as he didn't appear to be part of what is happening in cards today.

A shame, as it has evolved into much of what, many years ago, he expected it would become.

For those of you who didn't know Paul, he enjoyed the rare, rather than mainstream, cards that many of us treasure today.

And yes indeed, he was a prolific writer, about cards and baseball history.

It remains stunning to me, that this man actually conducted, what i believe to be, an in-person interview with Smokey Joe Wood.
I'll never forget his describing of that experience to me.

If i recall, that interview, along with those of other Baseball greats, appeared in his book "Forgotten Fields".

Paul Green was truly a hobbyist ahead of his time.

Rest in peace Paul, your contributions will certainly be missed.
