Default 1927 E210 York Caramel Types

Posted By: Paul

Are you sure the 1928 date is wrong for Type II? I always assumed that the Type II's were issued a year after the Type I's, or at least some time after the Type I's.

In Type I, Herb Pennock is shown in a Red Sox uniform, but in Type II he is in a Yankee uniform. He hadn't played for the Red Sox in about 5 years, so it made sense to me that York Caramel was a little embarrassed by the old picture and chose to change it the following year.

Also, Wilbert Robinson and Eddie Collins were dropped in Type II. Both were at the very end of their career. This also seems to suggest that Type II's were issued after Type I, possibly even a full year after.

None of this is definitive, but what is the reason to believe both sets were issued in 1927?
