If we're supposed to start taking our cues from what's acceptable to say in public from TV shows and movies, we're all in big trouble. This is a baseball card message board, Tom created a thread with some useful information in it, and I didn't expect it to be followed by an inane blanket statement about people that I share my heritage with.
I have a fine sense of humor, and nobody's ever accused me of being thin-skinned. That doesn't mean I have to read a post that takes an ill-informed jab at my heritage and say "Oh, that's supposed to be funny, and I'm supposed to laugh" and shrug it off. I would expect a similar reaction if the "humor" took a jab at any other group, too, regardless of whether or not their heritage has been immortalized in a television program.
