Default AIR FORCE....B52 bombers

Hi Ron

Thanx for the memories. I was a Radar Specialist in the Air Force in the 1960's. Stationed at a Strategic Air Command (SAC) base in Maine.
We had a squadron of B52 bombers.

I will never forget the excitement of being in the cockpit of one of these "big birds". I felt like Slim Pickens in the movie "Dr. Strangelove"

They are an amazing piece of machinery ….the first group of B52 bombers were built in 1952....and, I think some of them may still be flying.

Here's me when I was Radar school in Illinois. Incidentally, I'm a "Jersey guy", too.

.

Take care,
