I've got a Philadelphia Eagles football helmet which is I believe from the 1970's which I am trying to determine if it would have actually been used in a game, or is just a very realistic souvenir helmet. It is full-size, and much more "heavy duty" than another (definitely souvenir) helmet that I have, but the thing that is throwing me is the imprint inside which says "Warning: This Is NOT A Protective Helmet" which seems like an odd thing for a real football helmet to state. Also, there is not any padding on the inside of the helmet. I probably should have prefaced all this by saying I have little experience with football memorabilia, and absolutely none with helmets before now. Any thoughts/guidance would be appreciated.
