Just keep in mind that a mailpiece has to be more than 3/4 of an inch thick for delivery confirmation.

I had one rejected for that, but written up as needing to be priority mail. and with the previous years rate. And the post office I'd been to the day before was selling DC on a 8 1/2 x 11 flat envelope..... I'm pretty sure they've made it confusing enough that even they don't know what's going on.
