The Baseball Encyclopedia is full of great old nicknames. How about Harvey "Gink" Hendrick. Gink means "odd little boy".
As an inside joke, I will sometimes refer to my girlfriend as a "gink". She has made me promise that I would never refer to her as a gink in public.
